About This Site

This Louisville, Kentucky Natural Hazard Information Mapping Portal assembles data and tools designed to better access, manage and mitigate local hazards and associated risks.  Since flooding is Louisville's primary natural hazard, this portal focuses on information and utilities intened to supoort floodplain management.

Several partners involved in the development of this portal have a hand in either regulating, studying, decreasing, or more accurately defining floodplains in this community.  This portal will not replace web sites operated by these partners and others, but rather to provide a central gateway and complement them with added usefulness.
